Service Description
Changes to Safely Access the Rail Corridor (SARC) Requirements The National Matrix Committee has recently discontinued the acceptance of the following competencies as evidence of Safely Access the Rail Corridor (SARC) in ALL National Job Roles: Competency Code Induction.TfNSW - RISI 47830 Induction.RISI Card 23530 Qualified.MTM - Train Track Safety Awareness 27109 As a result, RIW cardholders currently relying on any of the above to demonstrate SARC competence will now be required to provide and upload a Statement of Attainment for the National Unit of Competency “Safely Access the Rail Corridor”. This can be an in date or expired version. Transition Period: A six-month grace period has been granted to allow: Employer Administrators time to upload the updated competency to affected cardholder profiles, and Cardholders time to complete the required training with a Registered Training Organisation, only if necessary. Deadline: 31 January 2026
